The Product

The Heirloom Disc™ is a 20mm precision-engraved pendant made from 316L stainless steel with an ion-infused finish. You upload your child's drawing or handwriting — and we engrave it exactly as they created it. Every wobbly line, every imperfect letter. Nothing corrected. Nothing redesigned. It ships on a delicate chain, ready to wear.

Yes. Inner Ziva makes premium skin-safe jewelry for modern mothers — and our pieces are designed to carry what matters most. This includes children's artwork, handwritten messages, signatures, names, and meaningful words in your child's own hand. Each piece is precision-engraved and crafted individually for you. New designs are added regularly — follow us at @innerziva to see what's coming.

Almost anything works — crayon, marker, pencil, pen. The drawing can be simple or detailed, messy or neat. We engrave it as-is. The only requirements are that the image is clear enough to photograph or scan, and that it fits within the disc area. Materials & Durability

Every Inner Ziva piece is made from 316L stainless steel — the same grade used in surgical implants — with an ion-infused finish. This means the colour is fused into the metal surface at a molecular level, not simply layered on top the way traditional gold plating is. The result is a finish that is far more resistant to dulling, chipping, and everyday wear. All materials are hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and lead-free — designed with sensitive skin in mind.

We describe our jewelry as water-resistant — and we do so deliberately, because we believe in being honest with you.

The word "waterproof" is widely used in the jewelry industry, but it is technically an overclaim. No metal finish — including solid gold — is truly impervious to water indefinitely. What matters is how a piece holds up to daily life: showers, hand washing, sweat, and the occasional swim. Our ion-infused finish is engineered precisely for this. It is significantly more durable than traditional gold plating, which can dull and chip within months of daily wear.

Our pieces are designed to be worn every day without needing to be removed. That said, we recommend avoiding prolonged submersion in chlorinated pools or saltwater, which can gradually affect any metal finish over time — regardless of what other brands claim.

Traditional pearl jewelry — particularly pieces where pearls are strung on silk thread — is not designed for daily wear or water exposure. Pearls are an organic gemstone that are porous by nature. Water, sweat, chlorine, and even skin acidity can penetrate the nacre over time, leading to dullness and structural weakening. The silk thread used in traditional pearl stringing stretches and weakens when repeatedly exposed to moisture. Any brand claiming a traditionally strung pearl necklace is waterproof is overclaiming — it is simply not accurate, regardless of the brand or price point.

This does not mean pearls and daily wear are incompatible forever. How a pearl is set and what it is paired with matters enormously. A pearl element set securely in a water-resistant metal — rather than strung on thread — is a very different proposition. At Inner Ziva, everything we make is held to the same standard: if we can't honestly say it's built for daily life, we won't sell it. Watch this space.

Real gold is beautiful — but it doesn't survive daily life the way a modern mother does. It dulls with contact, scratches easily, and requires regular re-polishing and repair. Most gold jewelry sold today isn't solid gold — it's gold-plated, meaning a thin layer of gold sits over a base metal. That layer wears off. Within months of daily wear, it chips at the edges and loses its finish.

Our ion-infused finish goes further than gold plating. The colour is not simply coated on — it is fused into the metal surface under high heat and vacuum conditions. The result is a finish that holds its appearance far longer under the conditions of real daily life: gym, shower, boardroom, school run.

Yes. All Inner Ziva pieces are made from hypoallergenic 316L stainless steel and are nickel-free and lead-free. Our ion-infused finish adds an additional layer of protection between the metal and skin. If you or your child has particularly reactive skin, Inner Ziva is designed with exactly that in mind. Ordering & Process

Select your piece and finish on the product page, then upload a clear photo or scan of your child's drawing or handwriting at checkout. Once we receive your order, our team reviews the image and begins engraving. If we have any questions about your artwork, we'll contact you at hello@innerziva.com before proceeding.

Every Inner Ziva piece is made individually after your order is placed — it is not mass-produced or drop-shipped. Personalised pieces are crafted and ship within 5–7 business days. You will receive tracking information once your order is on its way.

Yes — that is the entire point. We do not correct, clean up, or redesign the artwork. Every wobbly line, uneven letter, and imperfect shape is preserved exactly as your child created it. The only adjustment we make is scaling the artwork to fit the disc. If your image requires any changes, we will contact you for approval before engraving.

We do not currently offer a digital preview before engraving, as our process moves quickly to meet our 5–7 day window. If you have specific concerns about your artwork — size, placement, clarity — please contact us at hello@innerziva.com before placing your order and we will advise you.

Shipping & Returns

We currently ship within the United States. All orders include free tracked shipping. International shipping is planned as Inner Ziva continues to grow — follow us at @innerziva for updates.

Because every Inner Ziva piece is made individually for you after your order is placed, personalised pieces are final sale — we are unable to accept returns on custom-engraved items unless a manufacturing defect is present.

If your piece arrives damaged or with an error on our part, please contact us at hello@innerziva.com within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right. We stand behind our work.

Please photograph the damage and contact us at hello@innerziva.com within 7 days of receiving your order. We will arrange a replacement or resolution promptly. Every piece leaves us carefully inspected — but if something goes wrong in transit, we will take care of it.

Caring for Your Piece

Our pieces are designed for daily life — but a little care goes a long way. To keep your piece looking its best: wipe with a soft dry cloth after exposure to sweat, sunscreen, or saltwater. Avoid prolonged submersion in chlorinated pools or the ocean. Store in the pouch provided when not wearing. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, or ultrasonic cleaners. That is genuinely all it takes.

Your Account

We use a simple, password-free sign-in. Enter your email address and we'll send a one-time code to your inbox — just enter the code to access your account. No password needed. If you're new, your account is created automatically when you place your first order. You can also choose to sign in with Google for faster access.

Instead of a password, we send a short one-time code to your email each time you sign in. Enter the code on the sign-in page to access your account — it expires after a few minutes for your security. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder. You can also sign in with Google to skip this step entirely.
